Apple officially released the M3 Ultra chipset after more than a year of development. On Wednesday, March 5, this chipset and Mac Studio were introduced.
The most powerful chip Apple has ever created is the M3 Ultra. This chip is regarded as the industry’s top integrated circuit because of its huge double-binding of Neural Engine, CPU, and GPU cores, as well as supporting memory.
The M3 Ultra is 2.6 times faster than the M1 Ultra and twice as fast as the M2 Ultra when compared to chipsets from earlier generations. A CPU with 24 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores, as well as GPUs with 80 graphic cores, were responsible for this capability.
Apple’s UltraFusion packaging architecture, which delivers low latency and high bandwidth while connecting two M3 Max dies with high-speed connections, was used to produce this chip. In this manner, this chip may offer extremely high performance.
Ray tracing, sheding mesh, and rapid dynamical charging are other aspects of the M3 Ultra architecture. In this manner, this chipset can manage demanding tasks, such playing games with big storage capacities and high-definition displays.
“Faktanya, M3 Ultra dibuat untuk AI, termasuk aktor ML di CPU, GPU Apple yang paling kuat, Neural Engine, dan bandwidth memori lebih dari 800GB/s,” Google stated in a separate keterangan.
The more performance required, the more memory is required. Consequently, Apple’s integrated memory design incorporates memory with low latency and high bandwidth.
The initial capacity of this chipset is 96GB, however it may be expanded to 512GB or more than half a terabyte. According to Apple, this memory has outperformed the memory found in workstation graphics cards. In this sense, Ultra M3 is appropriate for demanding professional tasks including executing artificial intelligence (AI), producing visual effects, and rendering 3D.
